Global Digital Citizenship Post

1. The learning environment in which Kidspiration would be appropriate in the classroom setting. Kidspiration has many tools and features that are great for using with teacher help in the classroom, at least to begin with. This is a tool that would be great to use in the classroom and then transition to at home with families. Students can use this tool to make mind maps that can be changed into worded outlines.

2. This resource would not be appropriate in a school without a lot of funding because it does cost 27.99 with more costs incurred for additional maps or usage on an iPad. For a school with little funding it might not be feasible to have it for every classroom.

3. The problem of funding could be modified to be appropriate by applying for school grants or having a fundraising day for technology for the classrooms to buy and have Kidspiration.

4. When using technology in the classroom, it is very important to scaffold the instruction. Many students have a difficult time with learning new technology and by scaffolding new technology it will help them to truly learn how to use it. I also learned that there is technology for every type of lesson or unit I could ever want to teach. I feel like I have a huge support network in the technology field, that no matter what I want to do I can have a form of technology to interest my students in the content and to keep me interested in my passion for teaching.

I was impressed by the ease of which I could use Kidspiration and I think that it would be an asset to any classroom.
